Thanks for the links, Jake.
We're actually working our way through some best practices on how to use blogs as "online newsrooms." We run http://redcross.wordpress.com as a portal, linking to active operations, but we try to have a separate site specific for each big disaster.
With multiple authors and a faster, more flexible publishing interface, we can at least stay with 24-hour news cycles.

Ike: You guys do great work, and this is a stellar example of real-world uses for New Web technologies. Blogs, Twitter, social networks need to get into the consciousness as ways to communicate more effectively. Awesome, all the best.
