Seriously, We Want Bloggers at OpenWorld

Started by manalang · 9 months ago

I hate to beat a dead horse, but frankly, I’ve had precious few topics lately. To clarify:
We want bloggers to attend and cover OpenWorld, November 11-15, in San Francisco.
My PR guru and I had a call with Jeff and Vinnie this morning to discuss their thoughts on a blogger ... Continue reading »

  • Hi,

Yes, I qualify for this offer and I would like to take this opportunity but for me it was announced too late.
    1. I do not have US visa
    2. I've other plans, that are hard to change
    3. Traveling costs are high for me - i need sponsor :)
But if this will be still an offer for next year (or for other conference in Europe) than there will be more chances to accept such invitation.

    Regards,
    Paweł
  • Hmmm I haven't received any email from OOW.
    Perhaps next year.
  • No emails from Oracle OpenWorld?
  • Pawel: I can't speak for PR, but I hope the blogger program will become a fixture for OpenWorld events all over the world.

Anil: Did you register for OOW as press? If not, you should do so first.
  • You guys are doing a great job to make OOW blogger-friendly. It's hard to accomplish something like that, and I wanted to say thank you.

I can not believe that you have run out of things to say, still you are quite quiet and introverted - in the UK you would be flogging the horse not beating it !o)

  • Michael: You're welcome, and I hope you're planning to attend. It should be a fun time.

Tim: You know I haven't run out, just short on things I can say. Where have you been? Rockies-induced depression?
  • Have to admit I did not watch any of the games after the first drubbing by the Sox. They had just too long a break and by then the Sox were on a roll - it was a forgone conclusion :o(
  • I would be interested to join the bloggers, Iam speaking at OOW on Sunday in the BIWA track or SIG events.
    Thanks
  • First, let me say it's a wise and welcome move to start a program encouraging relevant bloggers to attend OOW. Granted, many of us don't think it's perfect. That's okay, I'm sure we'll work out the kinks incrementally as things move forward. Nevertheless, this is a very good start - keep it going!

Second, I'd really like to attend that demo of the Reports Repository. Please blog the details as they become available.
  • Shyam: I will get you on the list of bloggers. Jason Corsello (humancapitalist.com) will be on a panel and wants to be part of the blogger program as well.

Floyd: Will do if/when I get details.
  • So I started blogging about a month ago. I've already registered for OpenWorld and paid for it. Would I get a refund if I qualify for this?
  • Chris: Where do you blog? I can check with PR.
  • Chris: Let me check with PR and get back to you. I won't tell your friends you're blogging, unless you flame me :-)
  • Great! Not expecting anything (obviously) but that would leave room in my training budget to get to another Oracle class.
  • Great Way To Spread The News.

  • I qualify as a blogger. My blog is dedicated to Oracle Applications Technology (http://oracleappstechnology.blogspot.com). I have registered as Press on the link given by you. Let us see if it is cleared.

  • I have registered as a press, but I started blogging in my own space sometime back only. Hope let me get through and looking for some good time to unconference in OOW.
    cheers!

  • This is indeed a great thank-you gift from Oracle to all bloggers for evangelizing Oracle products! Hope the offer continues for future conferences!
  • I've been getting my usual vendor emails about Oracle Open World. I plan on blogging. I'll attempt to register as press, anybody in particular that I need to contact?
  • Nan: Did you succeed? Drop a note to me via Twitter (jkuramot) or email jake dot kuramoto at oracle dot com and I'll see what I can do.
