I have since moved to an HTC EVO, so I'm up to 9 over 13 years. Not really catching up to you.

Any reason you don't have a smartphone? No need? Just curious.

Re: Eight Cell Phones in Ten Years Part 2

8 cell phones in 10 years? thats a TINY amount of phones for me. i have a 2 year fido plan, im about 1 year into it, and im getting my third cell phones. the other phones were both LG's. the 1st one i guess you could say "went for a swim" and the seconed, well, shittiest, glitchiest, and slowest cell phone i have EVER had. the 1st was LG neon slide QWERTY keyboard, and the seconed was the all-new LG gossip, which was the crap. the gossip took about 1 minute to "initialize" SMS and MMS, and the internet connection was horrible. the 3rd phone is gonna be a sony ericcson vivaz pro. if anyone has had one, it would be nice for you to tell me, is it a good cell phone?

Re: Eight Cell Phones in Ten Years Part 2

Tim: I'll bet Steve Jobs didn't come over to your house to point and laugh either, aka the early adopter tax.

Re: Eight Cell Phones in Ten Years Part 2

Have to admit I could not stomach the price of an iPhone after my Treo managed to fly off my dashboard and out of my car window and get crushed by the guy following me. My son was imploring me to buy one but I held out. I hated the Treo - I was a skinflint and did not shell out for the Windoze version so work connectivity was limited.
I only had the Treo for a couple of months so I wanted a cheaper smart phone. I plumped for the ATT 8525 - best $100 I have spent - Oracle provides automatic email and calendar synching via outlook - the phone is pretty good too. Cant live without it!
