If you got all mad at Oracle and blogged about how much we sucked, that would be a cause for concern.
Aside from that, we are all just sharing ideas in the interwebs miasma.

Re: Back from OpenWorld

You nailed the gist of blogging, at least from my own perspective. I don't imagine that my voice has any influence on the development, purchase or use of Oracle technologies. My only influence is in sharing information, promoting conversation, or drawing more people into a conversation, and that the conversation itself might develop to the point of having some positive influence.

Re: Back from OpenWorld

Steve: I saw in eventtrack that you asked Jeff questions, but I don't recall seeing answers. Please do check out Mix and let us know what you think.

Re: Back from OpenWorld

Oh.. and thanx to the invite to Oracle Mix... I hope I CAN attend OOW next year... I do have questions for Charles... I did send a few to Jeff :)

Best,
Steve

Re: Back from OpenWorld

It was sad that nobody other then Tim Bonnemann, Ralf Dossmann and myself (all Oracle employees) showed up for the unconference session with Mark Finnern. We had a great discussion on Global Communities and the cultural challenges in building this communities. Tim took some very good notes about the session. http://wiki.oracle.com/page...

Re: Back from OpenWorld

your last point is spot on - Open World is very much about openness, Oracle has always been very much about Open Standards since it's beginning and I don't imagine that mentality changing.

I'm enjoying my blogging so far, after setting up a wiki about 3 years ago I thought I was due to dip another toe in the web 2.0 water - I have twitter penciled in for 2010 ;)

Re: Back from OpenWorld

Jake, the world is flat.
